Dr Ralstrom, D.D.S., M.S. "Dr Curt" Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Ralstrom was born in Detroit and pursued his undergraduate work in chemistry at University of Detroit. Following his graduation from University of Detroit Dental School in 1980, he obtained a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from Children's Hospital of Michigan. Returning to the University of Detroit, he received his M.S. degree in 1984.
Dr. Ralstrom joined the group practice in 1982 and became a partner in 1986. He also served as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Pediatric Dentistry Department at University of Detroit from 1981 to 1985. While there, he did research under a federal grant to determine the effects of oral burns on craniofacial growth and development.
Dr. Ralstrom achieved Diplomate status of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry in 1985. In the same year, he was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
He currently serves as Associate Chief of Pediatric Dentistry at Children's Hospital of Michigan where he has been a member of the attending staff since 1982. Over the years, he has published many articles on a variety of topics in pediatric dentistry. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, the American and Michigan Societies of Dentistry for Children and the American and Michigan Academies of Pediatric Dentistry. In addition, he belongs to the Michigan Cleft Palate Association and the Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity.

Dr Makowski, D.D.S. "Dr. Mak" Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Makowski was born in Hamtramack, Michigan. He studied pre-dentistry at Wayne State University before receiving his D.D.S. from the University of Detroit Dental School in 1980. At graduation, he was nominated for the National Honorary Dental Society and awarded the Dean's Key.
He continued his studies at the University of Nebraska Medical Center where he served as Chief Resident. He was also an Associate Professor at the Washington University School of Dental Medicine and Lecturer and Clinical Instructor at the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at St. Louis Children's Hospital.
Dr. Makowski joined the group practice in 1987. He is currently on staff at Children's Hospital and serves as Associate Director for Graduate Programs.
In addition to his many accomplishments. Dr. Makowski has presented scientific exhibits at National Pediatric Dentistry meetings and published definitive articles in national dental journals. Dr. Makowski is certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, is active in major pediatric dental societies, and serves as Chairperson for the Macomb County Dental Society's Committee on Dental Health.

Dr. Ari G. Thanasas, D.D.S., M.S. "Dr. Ari" Orthodontist
Dr. Thanasas was raised in Riverview, Michigan. His undergraduate and pre-dentistry studies were at the University of Michigan where he received a B.S. degree in Psychology in 1989. He continued his education at the University of Michigan- School of Dentistry where he obtained his D.D.S. degree in 1993. He pursued his professional education upon graduation from the U of M at the University of Pennsylvania- School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia. He received a Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics in 1995 and a M.S. degree in Oral Biology in 1996. While at PENN, he was a Clinical Orthodontic Instructor in both the Dental and Graduate Orthodontic departments.
Dr. Thanasas' research interests included the transverse patterns of growth in human prenates, the effects of different surgical techniques on the craniofacial growth of cleft patients and the investigation of surgically assisted rapid maxillary expansion in adults. His Masters Thesis included the evaluation of transverse jaw relationships in Caucasian and African-American adults.
Dr. Thanasas had his own private practice before joining the group practice in 2004. He is Board Eligible for the American Board of Orthodontics and is a member of numerous organizations. These include the American Association of the Orthodontics, Michigan Association of Orthodontists, Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists, Greek Orthodontic Society, American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association and the Detroit District Dental Society.
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, photography and sports of all kinds. Dr. and Mrs. Thanasas reside with their son and daughter in Grosse Pointe, Michigan.

Dr. Jeff Daulton, D.D.S., M.S. "Dr. Jeff" Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Daulton was raised in West Bloomfield, Michigan, although he attended high school overseas in Taipei, Taiwan. He attended and graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois where he received a bachelor of science degree in an Honors Science Program. Following his undergraduate studies, he graduated from the University of Michigan Dental School in 1991. At graduation he was awarded the American Society of Dentistry for Children Award.
Upon graduation from dental school he entered a two year Masters Degree Program in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Michigan, and was the recipient of the Rackham Graduate Fellowship. During his residency he served on the Craniofacial/Cleft Palate team at Mott Children's Hospital, Ann Arbor and as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Michigan Dental School. Dr. Daulton then joined the practice in 1993.
Dr. Daulton is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He is also a member of the American and Michigan Dental Associations as well as the American Society of Dentistry for Children.

Dr. Renee Fraser, D.D.S. "Dr. Renee" Pediatric Dentist
Dr. Fraser was born in Mt. Clemens and was raised in Utica, Michigan, She attended Macomb Community College and the University of Detroit for her undergraduate training. In addition to her pre-dentistry studies at these institutions, she obtained a teaching certificate in secondary education and was a member of the varsity track and cross country teams. At University of Detroit she was inducted into the Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit Honor Society and was named to the Midwest Collegiate Conference Academic Athlete team.
She continued her studies at University of Detroit Mercy Dental School where she was a member of the Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity. Upon graduation, she was awarded the Outstanding Senior Pathology Student Award.
Following completion of dental school, Dr. Fraser obtained a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from Children's Hospital of Michigan where she served as Chief Resident in her second year. At Children's Hospital she developed the educational component to Webber Elementary School which is the first school-based dental program in Detroit.
She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Michigan Dental Association and American Society of Dentistry for Children.Dr Fraser's interests include: running, needlecraft, reading and tennis.
Dr. and Dr. Fraser live in Rochester Hills with their four children, Brendan, Nicholas, Alexandria and Madison.

Alan J. Ker, D.D.S., M.S. "Dr. AJ" Orthodontist
Dr. AJ Ker was born in Buffalo, NY and raised in Troy, MI. He was selected for dvanced admission into the College of Dentistry at the University of Michigan as a senior at Troy High School in Troy, MI. His undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan earned him a B.A. degree in Psychology in 2001 while he also focused on his pre-dental curriculum. He then enrolled at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry for his dental training. He finished first in his class, obtaining his D.D.S. degree in 2005. Upon graduation, Dr. Ker was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Fraternity, was awarded the Samuel D. Harris award for excellence in Pediatric Dentistry, and a Michigan Dental Foundation Scholarship.
Following his dental training, Dr. Ker immediately pursued formal education in orthodontics at the Ohio State Uni versity College of Dentistry. He received a specialty certificate and M.S. degree in Oral Biology in April 2008.
Dr. Ker has presented his research at American Association of Dental Research meetings, the University of Michigan, and at the Ohio State University. His research interests include perspectives on need for orthodontic treatment and smile esthetics. Thus, the focus of his Masters Thesis was an assessment of what orthodontic patients find to be the most important aspects of a smile.
Dr. Ker is board eligible for the American Board of Orthodontics. He is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Michigan and American Dental Associations, and the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. Ker joined the practice in the fall of 2009.
In his spare time, he enjoys traveling with his fiancée, photography, and pursuing fitness activities such as biking, ice hockey, golf, and racquetball.
